ProAccess
Module for access control
ProAccess is an electronic access control system replacing conventional key systems. ProAccess primarily handles employees’ access to the company and its different buildings and departments, but it also allows the use of ”guest cards” for customers and suppliers. The access rules may be structured flexibly so that they reflect the company’s organisation.
ProAccess fully meets requirements to:
- Fire alarm with information about who is where, meeting-places in case of fire and as an add-on, fire doors can be triggered to close or open according to the individual fire emergency plan.
- Preventing and following up theft with user access restriction and histtorical access information.
- IT technology since our hardware is based on Ethernet LAN/WAN technology, giving a centralised or even decentralised on-line or off-line system.
ProAccess may be used as an independent access control system, or it may be integrated with the other ProMark modules for Time & Attendance and project registration.
On-line system
ProAccess is an on-line system. Changes in access and set-up may come into effect immediately, or they may be stored in a time queue for later implementation.
ProAccess is a client/server product and is built so that the access control system is administered from one central database. ProAccess communicates via a standard LAN Ethernet network.
Independent LAN door units
The LAN door unit is the latest accessory in ProAccess. As a standard, it monitors one door (card reader, pin code keyboard, lock, opening switch and exit button), but it can be configured with an extra print to be able to monitor two doors (TWIN door unit). If you wish to register who enters and leaves through the individual doors, i.e. have an overview of who is in which room, then all doors must be configured with a TWIN door unit.
The LAN door unit can be configured with a long series of card readers. The most common types for access control are Proximity (touch-free), Mifare (touch-free) and magnetic cards (contact card).
The LAN door unit contains all information about the door, including access profiles and time zones. This means that the unit can function independently in case of network breakdown. It contains all the necessary iformation to execute door opening with full security.
The LAN door unit is furnished with UPS power back-up to ensure passage in case of loss of current for a short period of time. Furthermore, both door unit and card reader/keyboard are secured against attempted breakage and short-circuiting.
The LAN door unit is delivered with two metres of network patch cable (RJ-45 LAN/Ethernet, 10 Mbit). When ordering LAN door units, Mark Information must be informed of the ProMark server's IP address, as this is "burnt" into the LAN door unit.
Security level
The security level may be raised by combining ID cards with pin code after certain hours, and this principle may also be used to secure especially ”sensitive” areas.
Alarm surveillance
ProAccess also contains alarm surveillance. Your company may raise its security level by constantly monitoring alarms via PC. Then you will be notified on-line, if e.g. a door is opened 'unauthorized'. You may demand acknowledgement for this, and all these events can be saved in a log.
Screens in ProAccess may be tailored to different user groups and together with the graphic user interface this makes for a highly user-friendly system.
Overview for all purposes
ProAccess is an ”open” system for security management. There is an activity overview with a filter function, with which you can make several different overviews on access and alarm conditions such as who passed a given door in any given interval, which abnormal events have taken place during a certain interval etc.
Identification
With ProAccess it is your decision which kind of identification to use, e.g. magnetic cards, proximity cards or simploy pin code as identification.
ProAccess can handle ”guest cards” and other special functions. This means that some cards may only be used in a certain date/time interval, doors may be opened at certain times for suppliers, or you can choose to register ”abnormal” events only etc.
How to use ProAccess
In ProAccess you define your company’s user groups and the administrators’ rights. From their PC on the network, these administrators may then create and maintain the employees’ home data, rules for door set-up, time zones, access, week tables and alarm types.
Main functions in ProAccess:
- Opening of door using ID card
- Opening of door using ID card and pin code
- Opening of door using pin code
- Forced opening of door
- Forced closure of door
- Partial disengagement of registrations
- Full disengagement of registrations
- Awaiting forced opening of door
- Activation of door alarm relay
- No access on a door
Simple use
Using ProAccess is simple for the employee because depending on the rule set-up, he/she uses card, pin code or both. If the employee is allowed access, the door is opened, if not he is rejected with light and sound.
All activities at the doors are stored with date and hour in the door unit. From there they are transferred automatically to the database where the activities are stored on disk.
ProAccess capacity
- Up to 2850 cards
- Up to 254 doors
- Up to 254 access profiles
- Up to 2000 activities in each door unit in off-line situations
- Built-in standard UPS with up to 4 hours capacity.
ProAccess requirements
- Standard ProMark requirements, refer to configuration guide
- LAN/WAN connection per door
- 10 MBit Ethernet
- RJ45 plug connect per door
- Fixed IP address or dynamically assigned via DHCP server
- 230 V power plug per door
ProAccess may be part of a network with data server and file server, and may be extended with Time & Attendance on registration terminals or directly on PC stations on a network.
