Mark Information speeds up development and internationalisation plans

With the appointment of a new Vice President of Research & Development from Microsoft Business Solutions, Danish company Mark Information turns up the speed of development plans. Increased focus on mission-critical processes, traceability and mobile data collection on the shopfloor, are to lead the way for continued growth and international expansion.

Danish company Mark Information, who helps companies collect accurate and timely performance data on production and makes it possible to maximize efficiency and profitability, has appointed Niels Bredegaard as new Vice President of Research & Development. Niels Bredegaard comes from Microsoft Business Solutions, where as Domain Director, Axapta, he was responsible for the business area Professional Service Automation in the Axapta world. Before working for Damgaard Data, Niels Bredegaard was employed in the ERP business Scala.

With the appointment of Niels Bredegaard, Mark Information has completed the Management Team, which is to carry the company's growth plans into effect. With several years’ experience from the software industry and with launching products in Europe, USA and the far East, Niels Bredegaard holds quite crucial core competencies in relation to Mark Information’s growth strategy. E.g.in the field of traceability – i.e. companies’ ability to trace and withdraw defective products – which is becoming a still more important competitive parameter. And also in the field of mobile data capture on the shopfloor where Mark Information has some unique qualifications.

- Through the past year, we have rearmed ourselves in almost all management areas. Now it was time for R&D which plays an important role in our growth strategy. Niels Bredegaard has long experience with development of business-critical solutions based on customer needs. His experience with larger ERP systems will give Mark Information even more knowledge about software integration, says Carlos M. Christensen, Group President & CEO of Mark Information A/S.

Furthermore, Niels Bredegaard’s experience with preparation and sales of software in Europe and the former Eastern Europe is very relevant in relation to Mark Information’s internationalisation plans. The company is witnessing that more and more customers turn their eyes towards the East where they can produce their goods at a lower price. The plan is to follow the customers on the world market and use that as a springboard for launching the ProMark systems to local companies.

- Internationalisation is a vital element in our growth strategy. In addition to Denmark, we now have sales offices in Sweden, Norway and the UK, but we are also looking towards the East with interest. We originate from the production environment and are here to collect, process and visualise time and resource consumption in production. Concurrently with more and more production being moved east, our focus will do the same, says Carlos M. Christensen.

In March this year, Mark Information published the annual results for 2004 showing solid increase both in gross profit and earnings. During the last year, Mark Information has appointed some new highly competent Managers on the executive level – for sales, marketing, support, business development and finance.
