ProReport II - new report generator for ProMark
This autumn ProReport II will be launched – offering all users a series of advantages
The planned release date of ProMark’s new report generator - ProReport II – will be September 2005.
”A successor to the present ProReport module has been anticipated by our customers for some time, and I’m happy that we can finally unveil the new functionality and other details about the product” says CEO Carlos Christensen, Mark Information.
ProReport II is a brand new product, and so it is not just an upgrade of the existing product ProReport.
ProReport II is designed as an ”application server” module which means that data search and generation of reports will take place on the server and not directly on the client PC as was previously the case. This means that export of data is no longer needed before reporting, as the new module reports directly on the data present in ProMark. Similarly, the limitations regarding data size, known from the present ProReport module, are no longer relevant.
- ProReport II is based on a brand new and modern base technology ensuring both customers and Mark Information a solid future platform including a series of advantages.
- With ProReport II reporting will be based on ’fresh’ data, and not as in ProReport be based on data from the daily export. This gives true real-time reflections of registered data, and a higher quality in the decision-making process.
- ProReport II contains a long series of new and improved possibilities for user defined set-up and selection, including formatting, calculation and sorting.
- Through a modern base technology, you get higher degree of security and elimination of limitations in file sizes on reporting data.
- Execution performance has improved considerably.
- Reports can be exported to PDF, Word as well as Excel. HTML formats will be offered in future versions of the product.
- The same report can be generated by several users at a time.
ProReport II can co-exist with the present ProReport, meaning that there is no hard-and-fast boundary for existing customers in their conversion process to the new reporting tool.
We have strived to make the conversion from ProReport to ProReport II as simple as possible. The majority of the standard reports in ProReport have been transferred directly to the new format. Certain tailor-made reports may however have to be developed again.
Support and corrections to the present ProReport will be offered until the 31 December 2006.
