Acquisition opens new markets for Mark Information
With the acquisition of the Danish company Vagtplan.dk, Mark Information will intensify its focus on the retail and service sector. Several years of experience with manning and job rostering, an attractive client portfolio and a development branch in Rumania is added to Mark Information with the acquisition.
Mark Information has acquired the Danish niche company Vagtplan.dk headed by Sven Spliid Neustrup, a company that specialises in manning and rostering for the retail and service sector. The acquisition plays a central role in the future strategy of Mark Information as they are aiming at getting a stronger position in these markets as a supplement to the company's solid foothold within the manufacturing industry.
Besides a proven manning and rostering system, Mark Information gains access to a number of attractive clients such as Berlingske Tidende, BT; Apollo and Lalandia. But what are more important are the 10 year experience and the development competences within manning and rostering that the acquisition also entails.
- Our own system, ProMark, already contains a number of features involving manning and rostering; however, not when it comes to exceptional skills which is necessary when you need to supply companies with large numbers of employees in the retail and service sector. With the acquisition of Vagtplan.dk, we get some particular strong cards to play both in terms of staff and also when it comes to IT. At the same time, we get a development branch in Rumania that can be expanded as we grow, says Torkel Olrik, chairman of Mark Information.
Mark Information takes over all the activities, the employees and clients of Vagtplan. According to Torkel Olrik, the Rumanian development branch of Vagtplan.dk will become part of the development team at Mark Information, and, together, the two departments will work at integrating the manning and rostering system with ProMark over the months to come.

Vagtplan was established in 1997 by Sven Spliid Neustrup and has specialised in rostering systems for companies with large numbers of employees. As an independent consultant, Sven Spliid Neustrup has implemented rostering systems i.a. at SAS Commuter, Sterling Airways, Bornholms Lufthavn, Toldcenter København and Statens Museum for kunst.
